The Biggest Portion Of My Memories
I remember a lot of things but one thing sticks out the most.
Me and my sister Brooke and my dad would always go to a dirt road to the right of our Ransom Road house. We would walk to the end to a little Jesus statue at the end of the road. It was the place were I learned the most. I learned to pray and we would always pray to that statue everyday. We, as 6 year old twin daughters of my dad with our imaginations on fire imagined he was real.
I still wish I could have that statue and pray to it. The day we did not see that Jesus statue will always be a lump in my heart. When I talked to that Jesus statue I thought he was standing there with his arms waiting to hug me, but he was paralyzed because he was waiting until the right time to come down on the cloud.
I had a dream a few years later that we were riding in a car but I was looking out of the window so all I could see was the sky and then I saw it! Jesus was coming down with a face of love and he started to go under the bridge towards the ground and just before his face went under the bridge I woke up. I will never forget that dream as long as I live.
I think that the statue and that dream are connected because I thought as a kid that he would come down like that and he looked like it in the dream.
I love Ransom Road and the memories it holds. Hey I could write a song about that!
I love you Mommy, Daddy and Brooke,
Valerie
